ShootSmart Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the ShootSmart mobile application (“ShootSmart,” “the app,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the app. By using ShootSmart, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if provided, your name and profile photo. Authentication is handled by Google Firebase Authentication, including “Sign in with Apple.”
- Content you create. Shooting scores, drills, systems, shot records, timer results, and any target photos you capture or upload are stored in your account so they sync across your devices.
- Camera and photos. With your permission, ShootSmart accesses your camera and photo library so you can photograph or upload targets for scoring and coaching. Photos you add are stored in your account.
- Microphone. The shot timer uses your device microphone to detect and time shots. This audio is processed on your device in real time to detect shots; it is not recorded, stored, or transmitted off your device.
- Purchases. If you buy a subscription or upgrade, purchase and entitlement status is processed through Apple App Store / Google Play and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
- Usage and device data. We collect app usage and diagnostic data through Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (for example, screens viewed, feature usage, crash logs, device model, and OS version), and use Firebase App Check to protect against abuse. The free version of the app also uses Google AdMob, which may access an advertising identifier.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and sync the app and your data across devices.
- Process purchases and manage premium entitlements.
- Display advertising in the free version of the app.
- Diagnose crashes, improve features, and understand how the app is used.
- Respond to support requests and protect the security and integrity of the service.
3. Advertising
The free version of ShootSmart displays ads through Google AdMob. Google may use an advertising identifier to serve and measure ads. You can learn about and control ad personalization through Google’s Ads policies and your device’s advertising settings. The premium (ad-free) version does not display ads.
4. Optional Detection Improvement (Opt-In)
ShootSmart may offer an opt-in program to improve its automatic target-scoring accuracy. If — and only if — you choose to enable it, target photos you scan and the hit positions you confirm or correct may be used to improve the app’s detection models. This setting is off by default, you can turn it off at any time in the app’s settings, and disabling it stops future contributions.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- Service providers that operate the app on our behalf, including Google (Firebase, AdMob), Apple, and RevenueCat. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
- Legal and safety reasons, if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
- Business transfers, if the app or its assets are transferred to another owner.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account information and content for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your associated data is deleted, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention periods.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including the security features of the Google Firebase platform, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and export. You can view and export your data from within the app.
- Deletion. You can delete your account and associated data from within the app.
- Detection improvement. You can opt in or out of the optional program described in Section 4 at any time.
- Advertising. You can limit ad personalization through your device settings.
- Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. Contact us to exercise these rights.
9. Children
ShootSmart is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Users
Your information is processed and stored on Google Firebase infrastructure, which may be located in the United States or other countries. By using the app, you consent to this processing.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through in-app notice.
